The mission of JP Restoration Counseling is to help individuals find liberation and live whole-heartedly
THE STORY
The significance of our name resonates with a personal journey and our mission as a counseling practice. The initials “JP” honor my brother, Jordan Paul Rheker, who took his life by suicide in 2011. His life and story has had an influence on the foundation of this practice.
In years after his death, I recognized an invitation for redemption— to help others navigating their own valleys of suffering, depression, hopelessness, and discouragement. This invitation became the catalyst for creating a place where individuals could find support and a path toward restoration in their own lives. The name JP Restoration embodies this vision: to see lives saved, people set free, and beauty emerge from ashes.
The mission of JP Restoration Counseling is to provide a place for the heart experiencing emotional pain, loss, or grief. We believe in the power of restoration—that therapy can be a tool to help individuals reclaim their lives, rediscover joy, and embrace a future filled with hope.
At JP Restoration, we are passionate about helping the brokenhearted find wholeness, the grieving find comfort, and witnessing joy. We are committed to helping individuals navigate through various life transitions and overcome obstacles. It is our goal to create a safe place for you to be heard, feel seen, and find freedom to live wholeheartedly.
Taylor Rheker
Taylor began her education in Christian Ministry and Leadership, where the focus of her studies was on leadership, theology, and biblical literacy.
She went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Licensed Professional Counseling at Oral Roberts University (ORU) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During her graduate studies, Taylor gained practicum and internship experience in a private practice setting in Dallas, Texas.
Following graduation, Taylor has continued her counseling work as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, under the supervision of Lana Bagley, LPC-S, serving in various private practice settings in Dallas.
Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Counseling and Psychology at Regent University, with a concentration in Biblical Counseling. Her research interests include exploring the effects of prayer on mental health.
Outside of counseling, Taylor enjoys going for walks with her energetic golden doodle, Charlie, listening to podcasts on theology and relationships, reading, traveling to new destinations, and catching up with long-distance friends over the phone.

Your first session is a chance for us to meet and get to know each other. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what changes or goals you’d like to work toward, and what you hope to gain from the process. There’s no need to have all the answers—this is simply a safe and welcoming space to start wherever you are and work at your own pace.
If you’re a new client coming in for your first appointment at JP Restoration Counseling, please complete your intake paperwork through your SimplePractice Client Portal before your scheduled session, as arranged with your therapist.
When you arrive, you’re welcome to make yourself comfortable in the waiting area. Your therapist will meet you there shortly to begin your session.
-
An individual therapy session typically lasts 50 minutes. The frequency of sessions and overall length of treatment will vary based on your therapeutic goals, the nature and severity of your concerns, and your level of engagement in the process. You and your counselor will work together to determine the schedule and duration that best support your progress.
-
Therapy is about the relationship. If you feel that your therapist isn’t the best match, we are happy to help refer you to another qualified professional outside our practice who may be a better fit.
-
JP Restoration Counseling is a Christian-based practice dedicated to serving each client with thoughtful, individualized care. For clients who are Christian, we welcome the opportunity to explore how faith can intersect with your clinical care. However, conversations about faith are entirely optional, and our team is trained to support individuals from diverse backgrounds and faith frameworks in their growth and healing.
